Ivychurch is a parish of Shepway District, Kent, UK. There are approximately 200 people on the electoral roll, with around 50% living in the village which is clustered around St George's parish church and The Bell Inn.
May 2013:
The Ivychurch Amenities Association has been reformed to build on all the work that has been done previously, with our main objective being
to manage and maintain the village hall, car park and village green and also to develop and manage any further community projects that might
benefit the residents of Ivychurch.
All adults living in the parish of Ivychurch, Kent, are automatically Members of the Association.
Because we are a registered charity, we can apply for grants that aren’t available to the Parish Council, and there is quite a programme of work necessary for the village hall, to attract more people to use it. The chief items being renewal of the porch and improvements to the heating, but we are open to suggestions for other worthwhile projects.
We’d also really like to hear your ideas as to what the village hall should be used for; so far activities suggested include table tennis, community cinema, performing arts, quizzes, bingo and music and we welcome more suggestions.
We also need to raise funds, as the amount of funding we’re able to apply for is unlikely to cover either the full cost of the necessary work or pay for ongoing expenses.
We’re looking for volunteers to help on the committee and with organising events, but also for everyone to support the events that do take place in the hall.
The IAA committee consists of:
Chairman : Margaret Waite
Vice-Chairman : Julia Berry
Secretary : Rotating
Treasurer : Mike Berry
Committee Members : Robin Button, Celia Heritage, Jan Robertson, Julie Bailey (website) Craig Milstead, Raj Milstead.
